Progressive Die for a 2 mm Sheet-Steel U-Bracket

ZINITEK progressive die project for a U-bracket: 120 mm pitch, three bends formed with the punch and a moving 3D model with an architecture view. Discuss a die for your drawing or sample part.

3D model of Progressive Die for a 2 mm Sheet-Steel U-Bracket

3D model

The view-only 3D model runs on a crank at 20 strokes per minute with a 100 mm stroke: the stripper clamps the strip, the punches cut and bend, slugs drop through the shoe, the lifters raise the strip 47 mm with the stripper so the brackets clear the forming blocks, and the feeder pushes it 120 mm around top dead centre. Switch on "Architecture view" to see through the die plates.

Main construction

The 310 mm strip passes piercing and outline blanking stations, the two side walls are bent in 3 bends (2 mm inside radius) and the part is cut off and slides down an inclined chute. Estimated cutting force ≈ 1,650 kN, press of 300 t or more; the stripper uses 750 daN nitrogen gas springs and the die is guided by 4 ball-bearing pillar sets.

Discuss a die for your part

Send a drawing or a sample with the material, thickness, volume and press details, and ZINITEK will propose a die design and manufacturing plan.
